Our Story, more Than a Restaurant

Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant – Family tradition and authentic flavors in the heart of Budva, near the Old Town

The Origin of Hong Kong Restaurant

Welcome to Hong Kong, the first Chinese restaurant in Montenegro, whose doors opened back in 1991 in the picturesque Old Town of Budva. The Rađenović family, with deep roots in the village of Prijevor, took a bold step to offer unique Far Eastern flavors to local and foreign guests.

Founding and Development: From Villa Balkan to the Old Town

Our restaurant was founded by a brave woman, the mother of the Rađenović family, in collaboration with her friend from the Yugoslav consulate in Austria. Thanks to their initiative and a family friend from China, we started as a small tenant in Villa Balkan. After the challenges of the early nineties, we took full control of the restaurant, and today it is run by the third generation of the Rađenović family, with the constant support of the founders.

Our Mission: Authentic Flavors and Family Tradition

Our mission is to combine authentic Chinese recipes with the Mediterranean spirit of Budva. At Hong Kong Restaurant, every meal is an opportunity to enjoy the richness of flavors and aromas while relaxing in a warm ambiance that exudes family tradition.

Our Vision: Budva as a Culinary Destination

Our vision is to make Budva a recognizable culinary destination, where different cultures and traditions meet. At Hong Kong Restaurant, every meal is an opportunity to enjoy the richness of flavors and aromas while relaxing in a warm ambiance that exudes family tradition.

Tradition and Innovation: The Hong Kong Menu

The specialties of our menu, adapted to the Mediterranean climate and the taste of our guests, make Hong Kong famous for its hot and sour soup and crispy chicken in oyster sauce. Our mission is to maintain high quality and service continuity, ensuring that every guest experiences the authentic pleasure of Chinese cuisine.

The Future in the Hands of the Young: Filip Rađenović

Filip Rađenović, a representative of the youngest generation, is already deeply rooted in the family business. With experience ranging from warehouse worker to assistant waiter and then in the kitchen, Filip now brings a fresh perspective while respecting traditional values. His specific taste also inspired Filip's dish on our menu, a combination of crispy chicken, sweet and sour sauce, rice, and noodles, which is particularly appreciated by our guests.
